Earth Day

Earth day is an annual event celebrated on April 22. It is a reminder to protect the environment, restore damaged eco-system, and live a more sustainable life. This year's theme was "Invest in our planet". A movement to change it all whether the business or political aspects. And how to take action for the climate. People across the world engaged themselves in various activities like picking up litter, planting trees, and numerous activities to protect our planet from deforestation and pollution. Earth day came into action in 1970 when Senator Gaylord Nelson decided to create the day for Earth as a way to force the issue onto the national agenda. What initially was a protest by students turned out to be a Global movement. It was a turning point in the history of the world as it set the beginning of something massive, creative, and enduring. It motivated people to be aware of their surroundings and made them realize how prime it is to address the problem of deforestation, pollution, etc. The thing we all need to learn from Senator Gaylord Nelson is to be proactive. Your idea could be visionary but you need to take charge of your hands. The beginning is all about I have to take the first step and not who will take it.
