The Table Game

“Table tennis” one of my favorite sports as it is very engaging and enjoyable sport. It is also known as ping-pong and whiff-whaff, a sport in which two or four players hit a lightweight ball, also known as the ping-pong ball, back and forth across a table using small solid rackets. The game takes place on a hard table divided by a net. Except for the initial serve, the rules are generally as follows: players must allow a ball played toward them to bounce once on their side of the table and must return it so that it bounces on the opposite side at least once. A point is scored when a player fails to return the ball within the rules. Spinning the ball alters its trajectory and limits an opponent's options, giving the hitter a great advantage. According to ITTF rule, the first service is decided by lot. It is also common for one player to hide the ball in one or the other hand, allowing the other player to guess which hand the ball is in. According to the New York Times, 31% of the table tennis players at the 2016 Summer Olympics were naturalized. The rate of naturalization accelerated after the ITTF's 2009 and to reduce the number of entries per association in the Olympics in 2019, the ITTF adopted new regulations which states that players who acquired a new nationality may not represent their new association, but follow the old one only. And these new regulations offer a social outlet through which bond between countries improve.
